Client Agreement & UpDynamic Rates
UpDynamic provides landscaping and excavation services for residential and commercial outdoor projects on Bowen Island and surrounding areas, including grading, trenching, site preparation, and related machine work. The rates below apply unless a written quote or contract says otherwise.
How we bill
On-site work is billed for actual time on site. Mobilization is a one-time charge each time a crew (machine + operator) is mobilized to your site (and applies again on a separate mobilization), as described below — it is not an hourly rate. We may provide estimates and quotes for larger jobs. This page sets our standard rates for work accepted under those terms.
Standard rates (effective January 2026)
All amounts are in Canadian dollars (CAD).
- Operator & equipment (on-site work): $95/hour — machine plus machine operator on site; includes use of our standard machine setup for the task, unless a separate quote applies.
- Mobilization — per machine ($200, one-time): A single charge of $200 each time one of these crews (machine + operator) is mobilized to your site. It applies separately to the John Deere 17G excavator and the New Holland skid steer (e.g. both on one job = two charges if both are brought to site). Not billed by the hour.
- Mobilization — off-island ($400, one-time): A single charge of $400 when equipment and crew are mobilized beyond our usual Bowen Island service area for your job (each such mobilization). Not billed by the hour.
- Compactor (500 lb): $80/day when supplied as part of your job.
- Other machinery: Quoted on request — additional attachments, units, or specialty equipment will be confirmed in writing before work starts.
Hourly and mobilization rates for excavators and other machines cover the equipment and a qualified machine operator together as one service. UpDynamic does not rent excavation or other machines on their own (no equipment-only or “dry hire” of our excavator, skid steer, or similar units).

Materials
Costs for supplied materials — for example gravel, crushed rock, topsoil or fill, boulders, drainage pipe (e.g. weeping tile, culvert, storm line), geotextile, mulch, and similar products — are on top of the hourly, mobilization, and other service rates on this page. Material amounts are typically quoted or confirmed in writing before purchase or delivery (including supplier pricing, delivery or placement where applicable, and any applicable taxes). Where no fixed line item exists in advance, materials will be billed at actual cost plus agreed handling, consistent with the quote or invoice notes for your job.
Invoicing and payment
Unless a separate written quote or schedule says otherwise, fees for services will be invoiced as follows:
- Engagements under twenty (20) hours: If the total on-site work for the job or agreed scope is less than twenty (20) hours, UpDynamic will issue an invoice upon completion of that work (or of the agreed phase), as applicable.
- Long-term or ongoing projects: If the work is a continuing or long-term arrangement, UpDynamic will invoice at the end of each calendar month for labour and charges accrued during that month, unless the parties agree in writing to a different billing cycle.
Payment method. The Client will pay amounts due by Interac e-Transfer. UpDynamic will provide the remittance email address (and any instructions needed to complete payment) after this agreement is accepted — including acceptance given by submitting the online form below, which the Client acknowledges constitutes agreement to these terms. The Client agrees to send e-transfers only to the address UpDynamic confirms in writing and to contact UpDynamic before paying if instructions appear inconsistent or unexpected.
Quotes & changes
Work beyond the scope of an agreed quote, or changes to site conditions, may require an updated estimate. Where no fixed quote exists, work is billed using the rates above.
Acceptance
By submitting the form below, you confirm that you have read and agree to these rates and conditions, and that you are authorized to request services on behalf of yourself or the company named.
